Portsmouth City Council City Crest

Public footpaths

A public footpath is normally owned by the local council and is available to be used by all members of the public. When us use a public footpath, you have the right to use it without obstruction or intimidation and to use with normal accompaniments, such as with a dog or pram, but not a bicycle. The definitive map is the county council's legal record of public rights of way in Hampshire displaying public footpaths, bridleways and some vehicular rights of way.
