Genealogy

The Genealogical Collection provides resources for anyone wishing to trace a family tree and guidance on records and information held elsewhere the study of the history of the past and present members of a family. It can be found within the Historical Collections area on the second floor of the Central Library.

The City Museum and Records Office also holds a vast amount of records which are invaluable for genealogical research. These include copies of the Census for the Portsmouth area, Parish records (baptisms, marriages and burials), directories and cemetery registers. For more information use the "Archives" link.
