Portsmouth City Council City Crest

Environmental Monitoring

The monitoring of environmental issues is a key objective of the council environmental health team. Our Commercial Team try to ensure that premises where we eat are clean and that places where people work present no risk to the health and safety of employees or members of the public. Air quality is also a significant issue for the city mainly because of the amount of traffic in the city. Currently four air pollution-monitoring stations operate in the city and we use information from these sites to assist us in the review and assessment of air quality.
