Building Control Services

The current Building Regulations (2000) came into force on 1 January 2001. As with previous Building Regulations they are made under the Building Act 1984.

Building Regulations cover matters such as structural stability, fire safety, energy conservation and accessibility of buildings. It should always be remembered that the Building Regulations are a separate requirement to planning permission and in many instances approval under both is required by separate applications
