Governors
School governors in Portsmouth play a really important role in helping schools to improve and raise standards. They provide a key link between the school, local community, parents and the local authority schoolsEvery governor brings different experiences, outlooks and perspectives, which help to contribute to the running of a school. As a school governor you will gain first hand experience of school life, meeting staff, pupils and other parents as you develop interests and skills that will benefit both yourself and the school.
The Governor Services team at the city council help to recruit and then support governor's in undertaking this important role.
