Pre-planning application procedures

Our pre-application protocol is designed to help you through the process of making a planning application to us. It tells you:

• how to prepare your planning application
• how it will be dealt with
• the service you can expect from our officers

We are committed to delivering a high quality planning service, whilst at the same time attempting to meet the government’s targets for deciding planning applications. These targets mean it is important to get all aspects of the process right first time.

Changes to the process

From 3 December, 2007 new guidelines apply concerning how to use it, please see the documents below for more information.
