1APP requirements checklist
The Standard Planning Application Form (1APP) replaces all existing planning application forms, except minerals, in England. It represents the biggest change to the planning system in recent years and a significant step forward in simplifying the planning system. Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) no longer produce their own planning application forms. What this means for you
1APP ensures that the same information is requested by every LPA in England. Completing and submitting applications should be quicker and easier by using this form.
The online form will be intelligent enough to help determine the planning consent required. This will significantly reduce the risk of an application being submitted on the incorrect form and increase the chance of a valid application being submitted first time. This benefits both you and us by resulting in a faster decision.
Everyone will benefit from clear, national guidance resulting in a more transparent planning system.
Planning professionals will be able to familiarise themselves with one form for all their applications. If they submit online it will save all their standard information, cutting down the time it takes to complete an application.
Local 1APP requirements checklist
The checklists below indicate our local planning application requirements, the local triggers and the policy framework that relates to them.
There is also a matrix of local requirements that contains all of these details and descriptions of the thresholds for submission of certain details which form background document to this 1APP consultation.
Each individual checklist identifies the national requirements for each application type, as set by government, and any local requirements drawn from the national list of local requirements. Each local requirement is identified as being mandatory (will always be required for that particular application type) or conditional (will be required if a certain set of criteria is met).
If the document is described as conditional, the checklist will identify when the document is required, and describe what form, purpose and content the document should contain.
