Hedgerow removal notice application

PLEASE READ THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS BEFORE COMPLETING THE PLANNING APPLICATION FORMS

FAILURE TO PROVIDE THE MANDATORY DOCUMENTS WILL RESULT IN YOUR APPLICATION BEING MADE INVALID

SIGN AND DATE THE RELEVANT OWNERSHIP CERTIFICATES, AGRICULTURAL HOLDINGS CERTIFICATE AND DECLARATION ON THE APPLICATION FORM

WHEN APPLYING FOR MORE THAN ONE TYPE OF APPLICATION, WE REQUIRE 3 COPIES OF EACH DOCUMENT SUBMITTED FOR EACH APPLICATION UNLESS THE APPLICATION IS SUBMITTED VIA THE PLANNING PORTAL

ALL PLANS AND DRAWINGS SHOULD BE TO A METRIC SCALE

National requirements

  • Completed form or the form set out in Schedule 4 to the Hedgerow Regulations 1997
  • Plan which clearly shows the location and length of the hedgerow(s) to be removed, if possible please provide a plan to a scale of 1:2500 (a different scale can be used so long as it shows clearly the location and length of the hedgerow or hedgerows that you wish to remove
  • Evidence of the date of planting

Local requirements - mandatory documents

  • Photographs and photomontages to show hedge to be removed
  • Landscaping details

Location Plan

  • 3 copies of a location plan based upon an up to date map to a scale of 1:250 or 1:2500 and showing the direction of north.  Plans should wherever possible show at least two named roads and surrounding buildings.  The properties shown should be numbered or named to ensure that the exact location of the application site is clear.
  • The application site should have the boundary edged clearly with a red line, it should include all land necessary to carry out the proposed development, a blue line should be drawn round any other adjoining land owned by the applicant.
  • If the location plan is Ordnance Survey based, please read the following section
'Under Section 107 of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 makes it a statutory requirement that a person must not distribute an unlicensed Ordinance Survey Plan. The unauthorised reproduction and the processing of unlicensed plans is an infringement of Crown Copyright and could amount to an offence by the person submitting the plan. You therefore are requested to submit authorised copies of Ordnance Survey plans, or if you hold a valid Ordnance Survey Paper Map Copying Licence please submit three copies of the site location plan clearly showing the licence number.'

Block Plan (scale of 1:100, 1:200 or 1:500)

  • 3 copies of drawings to show clearly the proposed development in relation to the site boundaries, the type and height of boundary treatment (e.g. walls, fences etc) the position of any building or structure on the other side of such boundaries.

Existing elevations (scale of 1:50 or 1:100)

  • 3 copies of drawings to show clearly all sides of the existing building

Proposed elevations (scale of 1:50 or 1:100)

  • 3 copies of drawings to indicate all sides of the proposed development where possible, the proposed building materials and the style, materials and finish of windows and doors, this is to show the proposed development in relation to the existing.  Blank elevations must also be included if only to show that this is in fact the case.
  • Where a proposed elevation adjoins another building or is in close proximity, the drawings should clearly show the relationship between the buildings, and detail the positions of the openings on each property.   

Existing floor plans (scale of 1:50 or 1:100)

  • 3 copies of drawings to show clearly details of the existing floor layout.

Proposed floor plans (scale of 1:50 or 1:100)

  • 3 copies of drawings to show clearly details of the proposed floor layout.
    The drawings submitted should show details of the existing building(s) as well as those for the proposed development.  New buildings should be shown in context with adjacent buildings.

Local requirements - conditional documents

  • Biodiversity survey and report
    Any development likely to affect a local or national designated nature conservation habitat or one which would have impact on a designated protected species
