If you have a comment or compliment
We welcome all comments and compliments that you may have about any of the services that we offer. You can do this in person, or by letter, email or telephone.
We aim to give you the best possible service, but we sometimes make mistakes and when we do we want to investigate and put things right as quickly as possible. Please don't hesitate to make a complaint, they help us to improve our services so please don't be afraid to let us know your concerns.
If you have a complaint
We have adopted the following definition of a complaint:
"A complaint is any expression of dissatisfaction about a service provided by the council, or someone acting on behalf of the council."
A complaint is usually about a specific incident, such as:
- the way we responded to your original problem
- the attitude or behaviour of our staff
- our failure to meet our standards of performance
If you have a complaint about us, whether it concerns our services or our staff, we promise we will:
- take it seriously
- treat you with courtesy
- investigate fully and promptly
- resolve your problem as best we can
- respect your right to take your complaint further if you're not satisfied
