Gardening is an enjoyable activity and there are many ways which sustainable development can be practiced in the garden to benefit wildlife, health and enjoyment.  Here are some of the sustainable gardening tips to consider:

• avoid using sprinklers
• use drought tolerant plants so you don’t have to water them regularly
• make a composter
• collect rainwater in a water butt
• grow your own vegetables
• create a wildlife haven
• avoid peat-based products
• use organic and environmentally friendly fertilisers
• cut out pesticides
