Securing our energy resources is vital if fuel stocks are reducing. First we need to be energy efficient and then look at alternative energy sources, and increase the amount of renewable energy in the city.

Leadership
A clear energy strategy for the city will be produced identifying renewable energy options and addressing our energy security, there will be clear leadership from major partners in Portsmouth - such as us, the Primary Care Trust, the university and businesses
Planning policies
We will promote renewable energy through the Local Development Framework
Research
We will keep our knowledge up to date of the latest technologies, such as renewable energy, energy from waste and carry out feasibility studies for specific locations
Encourage installation
We will encourage the installation of renewable energy technologies in buildings across the city
