The future of freight in Hampshire

Two draft strategies about freight issues in Hampshire have been prepared jointly by Hampshire County Council, Southampton City Council and ourselves.

The strategies refer to these areas:

  • the PUSH/TfSH area
  • the remainder of Hampshire

The strategies seek to help the competitiveness of the freight, logistics and distribution sector and to find ways to address challenges such as growth of the ports of Southampton and Portsmouth, whilst mitigating the impacts of freight activities on the environment and the community. They are seeking to identify the most important issues facing road, rail and maritime freight and suggest a range of potential options and means of addressing these issues.
