On 08/07/2008 a woman from Portsmouth was successfully prosecuted by Portsmouth City Council on charges under Section 111A (1A) of the Social Security Administration Act 1992. She had failed to declare that her partner had been working. This resulted in a Housing Benefit overpayment of £2752.03, a Council Tax Benefit overpayment of £761.31. She was given a 12 month community punishment order and 40 hours unpaid work. She was also ordered to pay £50.00 costs.
