Health and social care
As a council we aim to promote safe and healthy communities and protect and support vulnerable vulnerable adults and children – two of our corporate priorities.
Through our social care and Health Improvement and Development Services, we are working hard to provide care and support for those people who need it, and to give everyone’s health and wellbeing a boost.
To give you an idea of the scale of socal care, we support almost 6,000 adults each year through our residential care and supported living services – and we help most of those people to continue to live independently in their own homes. We provide services for older people, and those who have physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairment, mental health problems or issues with substance misuse.
