Who is entitled to a Homecheck?

Any resident who is over 60, has a child under five years of age or has a physical disability, living in owner occupied, private or local authority premises.

What does it entail?

The visit is to check homes for safety and security.

How long does it take?

An average homecheck, depending on the size of your home, can take up to two hours.

Is there a waiting list and if so how long?

For over 60s there is an average of one to two weeks, but for under five's it is about two months, due to high demand.

Is there a charge for a Homecheck visit?

In Portsmouth, Havant and Gosport there is no charge for the supply of locks and safety equipment.  The exceptions are stairgates and fireguards for which there is a £5 charge. In Fareham you will be charged £10 per visit.
