Conservation Area 23 - Portsea
Portsea developed as a suburb to serve the Dockyard in the 18th century.
This conservation area includes many of the historic parts of Portsea:
- georgian buildings in Queen Street,
- Treadgolds in Bishop Street,
- the Beneficial School of 1784
- early council housing in Curzon Howe Road, built in 1912.
