Mountbatten Centre

In 1978, the City Council, approved the Alexandra Park Master Plan, agreeing in principle to the siting of a new Sports Centre to serve the Portsmouth area.

Alexandra Park was chosen as the most suitable site, as it was well located from an access point of view, popular, already included a running track and cycle track, had water resources nearby, and provided considerable potential for the future expansion of facilities.
