Southsea Shopping Centre

Southsea Shopping Centre consists of the pedestrianised Palmerston Road Precinct (the core of the area), the un-pedestrianised part of Palmerston Road to the south, Marmion Road to the North and parts of Osborne Road and Clarendon Road to the west and east respectively. 

The north side of Marmion Road and the western part of Osborne Road also fall within the “Owens Southsea” Conservation Area.

Due to its location close to the seafront it both supports and benefits from the designated Tourism Priority Area. 

An Area Action Plan (AAP) is currently being created for this area, as part of the new Local Development Framework system. Their purpose is to provide the planning framework for areas where significant change or conservation is expected or required.
