Qualitative Assessment of Open Space
This technical background report has been produced to complement the work already undertaken for the production of Topic Paper 12: Open Space, published in December 1999 as part of the City Plan Review. The purpose of this technical paper is to outline the results of a qualitative analysis undertaken in relation to a small selection of open spaces which have been identified as potentially being of secondary or 'marginal' importance. Several of these sites were subsequently assessed in more detail to ascertain their potential, if any, for development, or whether they should be retained / improved as areas of open space.
