Counter Fraud Unit - what they do and how to contact them

Money Housing and Council Tax Benefit fraud is not a victimless crime - taxpayers bear the cost.

We know that fraud is taking place in Portsmouth and we are rigorously pursuing fraudsters but we need your help.

The Counter Fraud Unit exists to prevent and detect fraudulent claims to Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit. We also participate in joint working with the Department for Work and Pensions.

When fraudulent activity is identified and detected, we will apply the Anti-Fraud Strategy and Fraud Prosecution Policies.
