2. Current position and data collected

Existing data sources have been used to provide the context for the study. 2001 Census data for journeys to work has been analysed to give an indication of travel patterns and this has been used in combination with other sources including count data (provided by the City Council), and data  compiled at a sub-regional level. This has provided an indication of mode split. In addition, data on land use and potential changes has been used to indicate possible future scenarios.
