This is a ten year building guarantee for commercial properties, either new or substantially refurbished, which covers latent defects including structural faults.

Zurich Home Warranty

The Zurich Insurance Company can offer a competitive home warranty package which brings together two market leaders.

There are a choice of warranty products available to builders and developers, a choice of service levels and a choice of single or dual building control coverage.

FMB Masterbond

This is a renovations, extensions and home improvements warranty in partnership with the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) providing cover for:

• Structural work/alterations.
• Extensions.
• Loft conversions.
• Disabled persons facilities.
• All general building work including new bathrooms and toilets, double glazing, central heating and insulation.

The advantages of this scheme include transferable cover for any subsequent purchaser of a property benefiting from this warranty. It also protects against loss of deposit, defects related to faulty workmanship/materials for the first two years, and against structural defects for a full ten years.

Sub contractors work can also be covered. The warranty will also protect the householder against the builder going out of business, is declared bankrupt or dies. This product is also backed by Allianz Cornhill plc.

Local Authority Building Control (LABC) can offer a partnership scheme which provides a single plan checking service for all projects in England and Wales.

This is suitable for Architects, Designers and Builders who would benefit from one point of contact nationally for all Building Control matters concerning all their projects.

Again, this scheme is only available from LABC and many large organisations have partnered with a single Local Authority already throughout the country.
