Planning applications and appeals using the Planning Portal
How to submit an applicationYou can now submit planning applications online using the Planning Portal.
Use the external link to acess the site, you will be required to login or register on the site if you have not used it before.
You will then be able to submit applications and view any that you have previously made. The Planning Portal has full instructions and information on their site and give guidance as to obtaining site plans and uploading drawings.
How to appealInformation about appeals to planning applications is available as part of the Members' Information Service (MIS) published each Friday.
Planning Appeals – Changes to the Appeal Service
New changes came in to force on 6th April 2009

If you want to appeal against refusals or any grant of planning permission, consent, agreement or approval which is granted subject to conditions then you must do so within 6 months of the date of the notice of the decision.
Householder Appeal Service
Householder applications made on or after 6 April will be dealt with via the Householder Appeals Service (HAS).
Definition of a householder application
For householder appeals, the time limit for an applicant to submit an appeal against refusal of planning permission will be 12 weeks from the date of the notice of the decision.

Making an Appeal

Appeals must be made using a form which you can get from the Planning Inspectorate, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN or from the Planning Portal
