Volunteer with Portsmouth City Council
Last updated: 13 April 2010 09:44
Have you thought about volunteering?
Volunteering opportunities encompass a huge variety of options. From helping an elderly neighbour with their shopping, to providing legal advice for a local charity, volunteers make a vital contribution to all aspects of community life.
Volunteering can improve your life in countless ways - helping you make new friends, boosting your confidence and improving your CV - not to mention making a real difference to your community.
Our online directory provides links to over 50 different opportunities with our services that need volunteers, so there's something for all interests.
The directory is co-ordinated by the city council's voluntary sector unit part of customer, community and democratic services and aims to:
- raise the profile of volunteering in Portsmouth
- highlight the wonderful work of volunteers already happening within the city council
- encourage more local people to get involved in voluntary work
We've grouped the opportunities into different types of work or categories at the bottom of this page, if you go and click on the type or category that interests you most, you'll then see all the different options open to you.
