China expert to give business tips to city firms
Local companies are to get expert advice on how to do business in China.
An advisor on the country's booming business scene is coming to Portsmouth on 17 July, to help firms find Chinese customers or expand existing operations in the country.
Eric Li, of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), has many years' experience of China's aerospace, energy, automotive, engineering, marine and security sectors.
He will be offering advice on developing business in China, reporting on various market sectors and suggesting useful contacts.
UKTI is a government agency that helps British companies succeed
in international markets and encourages overseas firms to invest here.
Mr Li's visit has been arranged by Portsmouth City Council, Portsmouth and South East Hampshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry and UKTI.
Inward Investment Officer Zhi Dong, of the council, said: "This is a good opportunity for local businesses to get up-to-date information on Chinese markets and professional advice on doing business in the country.
"The visit will also help to raise the profile of Portsmouth as an ideal place for doing business and introduce the services provided by the council and the chamber."
