Formal Review of the Southsea Town Council area

Portsmouth City Council performed a formal review of the parish arrangements for the Southsea Town Council area in 2006.

We have decided to make a recommendation to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government that the parish area of Southsea and Town Council should be abolished.

A copy of our submission can be viewed through the link below.

The submission (together with each of the annexes containing supporting documentation), is available for inspection during normal office hours in the Election Services Office, Civic Offices, Guildhall Square, Portsmouth.

On 26 November 2007 the Department for Communities and Local Government advised us that the Minister for Local Government had decided not to accept our recommendation. A copy of this letter can be viewed through the link below.
