The responsibilty for considering complaints that a councillor may have breached the Code of Conduct is part of the Standards Committee's role. If you want to complain about the conduct of a Portsmouth City Council councillor, or one from Southsea Town Council, you must send us your complaint.
An assessment sub-committee will deal with complaints, but it will not deal with any complaint that is not covered by the Code of Conduct. If you make a complaint it must be about why you think a councillor has not followed the Code of Conduct.
We base our assessment criteria on the guidance given by the Standards Board in their publication Local assessment of Complaints.
If you would like to make a complaint you can email us at codeofconduct@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.
